Seminar in Ethics
This seminar will investigate one or more figures or themes in historical or contemporary theoretical or applied ethics. Possible topics include the nature of practical reason and its relation to emotions and social life; the epistemological
status of moral intuitions and judgments; or challenges to modern ethics from the revival of virtue ethics or the ethics of care, authenticity, or ambiguity. Students will normally be required to write a major paper and do an oral presentation.
