International Community Development

This course will introduce the student to the challenges of sustainable community development in the developing world. The course begins with a broad exploration of the meaning of development and under-development and its relevance to Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East today. This course will also explore various approaches which have been used in local, bottom-up developments as well as some tools which are now available to assist the community development facilitator.
