Romantic Explorations
Students study the period 1780-1830 in depth, through a variety of visual, literary and material artifacts. Specific themes and topics relevant to this time of rapid social and cultural change may include: narratives of travel and exploration; the imagination and the sublime; nature, climate and ecology; the city; childhood; gender and sexuality; revolutionary politics;slavery, race and empire.
