Basic pharmaceutical industry and major pharmaceutical manufacturing methods; design of unit operations such as powder mixing, coating and tableting for drug processing; drug chemistry, synthesis, metabolism and validation; principles of drug finding, formulation, and clinical studies; principles of Good Lab Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and the history and development of FDA regulations; quality and safety aspects.
