- SPS 502 - Spanish Caribbean Literature and CultureCourse DescriptionThis course, taught in English, is intended to introduce students to the Spanish speaking Caribbean. Through the study of literature, painting, and cinema, students will have a broad overview of Hispanic Caribbean cultural traditions. Students will study three principal countries: Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. - SPS 503 - Sex in the Early Modern CityCourse DescriptionThis course, taught in English, studies the construction of sex and gender in the literature and history of the Early Modern World. Students will read a selection of works on women and learning, gender politics, the development of medical studies, sexuality and disease, prostitution, and various forms of sexuality, among other issues.
