SOC 600

Globalization and Health

What are the relationships between globalization, income inequality, and health? How does inequality "€œget under our skin?"€ What responses are possible and effective? These questions are examined in the context of an emerging trans-disciplinary literature. There will be a special emphasis on anti-oppressive and anti-colonial frames to critically examine the main agents and consequences of globalization including neoliberalism, colonialism, diminishing workers'€™ rights, rampant income inequality, forced migration, and the realities of a climate emergency.
