Design Literacy I
This course introduces elements and principles of design in two- and three-dimensional forms with a focus on fashion media and artifacts. Lectures will discuss theory related to the analysis of design that considers the connections between formal properties, concepts, and sociocultural contexts. Students become familiar with the vocabulary and theory necessary to critically assess design. Studio projects provide the opportunity to explore the relationship between formal elements and concepts. Studio format with online lectures/instructional materials.
