Transaction Processing. Database Machines, Front-end Subsystems, Admin. Facilities. Distributed Databases: Concurrency Control through Locking, and Recovery. Also, discussed: The Nested Relational Model, The Semantic DB Model, The O-O DB Model and the Logic Based/Expert DB Systems.
