Building Investigation. This studio course deals with the practical assessment of the performance of existing buildings. It applies the theoretical knowledge gained in associated lecture courses that are co-requisite with this studio. Students will have the opportunity to apply investigative, survey, measurement and testing techniques, use assessment protocols to assess the performance of real buildings, and use this information to suggest ways to improve performance. The course includes assessment of the building fabric, mechanical systems, energy use, indoor environment, and user satisfaction.
