World Fashion: Contemporary Perspectives

Exploring non-Western dress across Asia, Africa, and the Americas, this course fosters a broad understanding of the complex relationships between dress and culture in the non-Western world. To expand student' knowledge on the influences and interactions between the West and non-Western cultured each region is covered through themes such as history, hybridity and diaspora. The course goal is helping students into developing an appreciation and understanding of dress diversity from a contemporary perspective.
