ARB 101 - Introductory Arabic I
Course DescriptionThis course is designed to help students with no knowledge of Arabic to begin developing functional communication abilities in all four language skills in spoken and written Modern Standard Arabic. Using a variety of authentic materials, students will learn to create conversations based upon culturally authentic situations. By the end of this course, students will be able to read and write simple sentences and to talk about subjects related to family, studies, and social environment.

ARB 201 - Introductory Arabic II
Course DescriptionThe course, which focuses on the acquisition of complex grammatical structures, expanding vocabulary, and discourse skills, develops functional communication abilities in all four language skills in spoken and written Modern Standard Arabic. Topics will be presented using authentic materials. By the end of the course, students will be able to read, write, and translate longer passages in Arabic. Students will also be able to talk about subjects related to cultural environment, work, relationships, and general knowledge.
