Working through the Bridging Divides Training Working Group, researchers working on this projects will develop and offer online workshops on using Voyant Tools. While part of the Citizenship and Participation theme, this projects interests the wider Bridging Divides network.
This project will identify training needs of the University of Alberta Bridging Divides research team to better understand how to develop Voyant training materials for the wider Bridigning Divides research network.
Specifically, it focuses on the software Voyant, a widely used, easy to use award-winning text analysis and visualization environment that can be employed to study unstructured discourse.
- What are the Voyant software training needs within the Bridging Divides research network?
- What training materials in Voyant and Spyral can be developed and used across the Bridging Divides network?
- What software training workshops can be developed and delivered to Bridging Divides researchers?
This project is a collaborative effort that will use a variety of digital methods to develop training materials.
Phase one 1 of the project, which focuses on consultations, organizing trainings and collecting feedback from those activities, is currently ongoing.
Expected completion: December 2026
