Aysha Wu is a recent graduate of the MacEwan University Professional Communications degree program with a minor in journalism. They currently work as the communications coordinator for the University of Alberta Bridging Divides team and the communications officer for the Alberta Land Institute, also based out of the University of Alberta.

During their degree, Aysha took a particular interest in research that advocates for disadvantaged communities. Last year, their research “ Branding Your Brain: How Internal Branding Creates Unsafe Work Conditions” was published in MacEwan University’s Student eJournal (MUSe). The research examines the concept of internal branding and how internal branding practices impact the mental health of the members of an organization.

Aysha has experience in communications and marketing in the non-profit sector – particularly working with unhoused 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and emerging adults, pharmaceutical testing and environmental sciences. Aysha is passionate about communications and storytelling as an avenue for enacting positive social change.
