
Philip Kumar
Philip Mai is a Senior Researcher and Co-Director at the Ted Rogers School of Management Social Media Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). He is also the co-founder of the International Conference on Social Media & Society.
At the Social Media Lab, he leads projects that examine the spread of misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, and conspiracy theories. His work also covers tech policy, social media adoption and usage, research knowledge mobilization, business and research partnerships, and the development of social media research tools for the academic research community. The common thread throughout his work is a commitment to building systems, tools, and platforms that contribute to a more transparent society. His goal is to connect people, knowledge, and ideas.
