Mandana Vahabi

Mandana Vahabi is a professor at Toronto Metropolitan University in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing. She is also co-director of the Centre for Global Health and Health Equity. Her research and scholarship focuses on health equity and social determinants of health, particularly in the areas of cancer screening, food security, mental and sexual health. Drawing on her extensive experience in social epidemiology and community health, she collaborates with diverse teams and stakeholders in creating culturally congruent and impactful research and health interventions for marginalized populations.

Prior to joining TMU, Mandana worked in various roles ranging from project director, policy consultant to senior epidemiologist/planner at governmental organizations such as the Ministry of Health Long Term Care, Population Health Policy & Planning and Women’s Health Branch, St. Michael’s Hospital and the Toronto District Health Counci.
