A one-day meeting designed for all researchers, affiliated researchers and HQPs at TMU who are part of the Bridging Divides team

Led by Karen Soldatic and Bilal Farooq, this retreat aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing among researchers working on various projects within the Bridging Divides research program. This will be an opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and explore collective solutions to challenges in your research.

During this interactive workshop, participants will delve into the innovative approaches of some of the health science and engineering research groups within Bridging Divides that level technology and innovative practices to advance their projects. Attendees will have the chance to present their ideas, discuss challenges, and receive feedback from peers across different fields.

A draft agenda and a call for presentations will be available soon.

Call for proposals

As part of the Fall Retreat, we are inviting proposals for research presentations. Students and early-career researchers working on BD projects are particularly encouraged to submit their ideas and actively engage in the retreat. This is a unique opportunity to let others in BD know about your work, practice your presentation skills, identify opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, and gather feedback from colleagues working in different fields.

Key Details:

  • Talk Duration: 10 minutes
  • Submission Deadline: September 15, 2024 (passed)
  • Submission Format: Please submit a proposal by filling out this proposal form (external link) . Outline your topic, key points, and any supporting materials (if applicable). We are especially interested in presentations on research outside of health sciences and civil engineering, although all submissions are welcome. We hope this platform will help identify ways in which projects from other disciplines can benefit from technical engineering and health sciences contributions.
