The Caribbean Studies Minor provides an excellent site for studies of diversity, multiculturalism, colonialism and neocolonialism due to the region’s complex history. Students will also learn about an important diasporic community in Canada, thereby engaging with issues such as migration, transnationalism, racism, and equity. This multi-disciplinary minor offers students the opportunity to learn about the histories and cultures of the peoples of the Middle East and North Africa from antiquity to the present day. With this minor, students will gain a greater understanding of an important region of the world that has played a key role in the development of literature, art, science, and technology.
