Dimensions Pilot Program

Dr. Art Blake leads TMU's Dimensions initiative aiming to increase equity, diversity and inclusion in research

In early 2020, associate professor in the Department of History Dr. Art Blake was appointed director of Toronto Metropolitan University's two-year Dimensions Pilot Program. Dimensions (external link)  is an initiative of the three federal granting agencies in collaboration with Universities Canada and Colleges and Institutes Canada. TMU is one of 17 institutions piloting this newly created program to increase equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the scholarly, research and creative (SRC) ecosystem. 

Dr. Hyacinth Simpson (she/her) is an associate professor in the Department of English and the Dimensions Faculty Chair in the Faculty of Arts. Dr. Simpson’s research expertise in postcolonial, Caribbean, migration and diaspora, and Black Canadian studies as well as her lived experience as a Black woman in academia inform her EDI-focused work as a Dimensions Faculty Chair.
