Lecture Title: (An Architecture of) Kindred Spirits
Lecture Description:
Alison Brooks, Canadian-British founder of internationally acclaimed, UK-based firm Alison Brooks Architects will describe how her practice embeds memory, material culture, and the concept of journey in works conceived to help strengthen communities and deepen human connections to place, both natural and constructed. She will expand on how this ethos permeates her work across all scales, from installations like the Smile, to experimental houses, academic buildings and high- density urban housing in the UK, Far East and North America. Her dedication to the technique, art and craft of building is represented in her recently published monograph (external link) TC Cuadernos Issue 63: Alison Brooks Architects 2004 - 2024.
