Message from the Chair
Design matters in so many ways!
Architects have crucial roles to play in advancing climate action, social justice, Indigenous rights, and cultural vitality. Today’s complex challenges require reimagining what, how and why we design, and who we design for and with.
TMU’s Department of Architectural Science prepares students to design adventurously and responsibly, and to engage design creatively and critically through provocative questions, innovative research, and impactful solutions.
We are the only school in Canada integrating Architecture, Building Science and Project Management. This interdisciplinary approach gives students a deep and holistic understanding of design: from conception, to completion, to ongoing care, evaluation and life-cycle planning.
Studies are enhanced by continual engagement with industry experts and experiential learning via Co-op, global travel, community participation, and hands-on making in a vibrant urban and intellectual context.
Students benefit from outstanding faculty and staff, and a collaborative culture of empowerment, inspiration, and belonging.
I invite you to learn more about how we are amplifying diverse voices and visions of the next generation of designers as active world citizens and leaders of purposeful change.
