Founder and Chair of the BlackNorth Initiative, Wesley J. Hall (Wes) is committed to dismantling anti-Black systemic barriers negatively impacting the lives of Black Canadians. At TMU, Wes’ vision and generosity have resulted in the creation of the Wes Hall Award for Black Journalism, the BlackNorth Initiative Law Scholarships and the Wes Hall Social Entrepreneurs Award. He is creating opportunities for discussion on anti-Black racism at TMU, including guest speaking on the Alumni Relations Generous Futures: Black Voices Leading panel, at the Chang School and Faculty of Community Services. No Bootstraps When You're Barefoot, his national bestselling book was recently launched with a special fireside chat for the TMU community.
