Stephen Bulger
Image Arts ’91
In 1990, while in his third year of the Image Arts program, Stephen Bulger became the founding director of the Ryerson University Student Gallery. After graduating in 1991, he continued to volunteer with the gallery for many years, becoming a part of the exhibition review committee, and managing over thirty exhibitions. In 2009, Stephen became a founding member of the Ryerson University Image Centre Advisory Board, serving as chair from 2011 to 2014, and as a member of the Acquisitions Committee over the last eight years. He was integral in helping secure both the Black Star and Rudolph Bratty Family collections for the RIC. He is also co-founder of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, featuring the Scotiabank Photography Award, which showcases the winner each year at the RIC.
