Maayan Ziv
Radio and Television Arts ’12, MDM ’15
Maayan Ziv has dedicated her life to shine a light on accessibility challenges around Toronto and Canada. A 2020 recipient of the Governor General’s Innovation Award and 2019 Ryerson Alumni Achievement Award, she founded AccessNow as a Master’s student at Ryerson, a mobile app designed to empower people living with disabilities by connecting them with information on the accessibility features of businesses and experiences in over 30 countries. The app’s success has made Maayan a frequent media headliner and she takes great care to mention the contributions that her time at Ryerson and the DMZ have made in realizing that success.
