Dr. Donette Chin-Loy Chang
Journalism ’78
Ryerson University has remained a ‘special family’ for Dr. Donette Chin-Loy Chang, whose late husband was Ryerson University’s beloved Chancellor from 2006 to 2012. Donette credits Ray with ‘bringing her back’ into the Ryerson University fold, and she has been actively involved ever since. She offers strategic advice on communications as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Faculty of Community Services, and is active with the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, where she created an award in her parents’ name for students in the Mental Health and Addictions certificate program. She also recently created an award, named in honour of the former Dean, Usha George, in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing. Donette has brought countless friends and associates closer to Ryerson University as an exceptional ambassador for the university.
