Dr. Ann Fox
Food, Nutrition, Consumer and Family Studies ’85
Director, Public Health and Community Nutrition Programs, University of Toronto
A registered dietitian who has worked in a variety of community and hospital settings, mostly in the areas of diabetes and women’s health, Ann Fox is the Director of the Community Nutrition Program at the University of Toronto, a highly respected program that owes much of its success to her academic leadership, commitment to student-centered learning and innate aptitude for strategic thinking and development. Dr. Fox is also the Director of the Public Health Nutrition Program at the University of Toronto, a new program that enhances access to graduate education for nutrition professionals living in northern and rural communities. In addition to her work as a member of the Ryerson School of Nutrition’s Advisory Committee, Dr. Fox also serves as a member of the Pan-Canadian Task Force on Public Health Nutrition Practice and she is collaborating with international colleagues to explore public health nutrition workforce development in Canada, Europe and Australia.
Although I have studied and worked in different universities, I consider my education from TMU (Ryerson Polytechnical Institute at the time), to be the foundation of everything that followed.
