Journalist and news anchor Dwight Drummond has been covering news in Toronto for close to 25 years with VisionTV, Citytv and CP24. He joined CBC in 2010 when it revamped its supper-hour newscast and has seen the show’s audience grow by 20 per cent. Known for his exclusive reports, he has broken stories that have gone national and has reported from the United States, the Caribbean and Africa. He had the lead story for CityNews’ Gemini win for best newscast and a top story for Citytv’s Edward R. Murrow win for best newscast. He has also received the Men of Excellence Award, the Black Business and Professional Association’s Distinguished Men of Honour Award and the African Canadian Achievement Award for excellence in media.
