Description
Join us during Women’s History Month for a book talk featuring alumni author, Laurie Gelman (Journalism ‘88) and her best-selling Class Mom (external link) novel series. The Class Mom series sheds light on the invisible labour issue that many women experience in a lighthearted and entertaining way.
The novels tell the story of Jen Dixon, a kindergarten teacher living in Kansas City, with two college-age daughters and a toddler son, all from different fathers. Equipped with her ferocious charm and guile, Dixon says the things all moms really think, and manages to get away with it — mostly. In the well-received series, readers meet Jen’s unconventional family and laugh-out-loud as she tries to navigate the surprisingly difficult terrain of parental politics; the series continues with volume 4 — Smells Like Tween Spirit: A Novel (external link) to be released in August 2022.
