Graduate student openings in the Propulsion and Clean Energy Research Group (opens in new window) , Toronto Metropolitan University
Subject: Soot formation at high pressures (Experimental), Soot formation in atmospheric oscillating flames (Experimental), Hybrid-electric propulsion (Experimental/Numerical), Airborne disease transmission (Experimental/Numerical)
Start: September, 2023

Qualifications:
· For Ph.D. applications, a recent M.A.Sc. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and/or Physics, focusing on experimental fluid dynamics, combustion, or a related area
· For M.A.Sc. applications, a recent B.Sc. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and/or Physics (only domestic candidates will be considered)
· Proficiency in English and strong technical writing skills
· A track record of high-quality research (a minimum of one peer-reviewed publication for Ph.D. applicants)
· Ability to be self-motivated, to motivate others, and provide research leadership
· Experience in image processing using Matlab or Python is an asset
Research Project:
The successful candidate will perform cutting-edge experimental or numerical/experimental joint research on propulsion systems or aerodynamics of airborne disease transmission.
