14 Reasons Why We Love TMU

It’s February, which means it’s time to celebrate Valentine's Day. Here at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), love is in the air! I took to the streets of campus to see why current TMU students love our university — and why you will too!

1. “The diversity of students. There are a lot of races and cultures, and it’s nice to see.” - Grace, English

2. “The creativity and the hands-on nature of course delivery.” - Yara, Retail Management

3. “The ability to take courses across faculties. I’ve taken science, arts, business and creative classes.” - Andrew, Creative Industries

4. “I like that it’s in the city and close to many things. It's easy to get around and explore somewhere else if you have a break between classes."  - Selina, Creative Industries

5. “I like the fitness classes that are offered to students. They’re fun and included with our tuition!” - Casey, Business Management

6. “The food options — there’s a lot of variety around campus. We have Balzac’s (external link, opens in new window)  and there’s also different cafés in different buildings. Oakham Café (external link, opens in new window)  is really nice, especially the prices. You can get a nice meal for $10!” - Larissa, Criminology and Kwanna, Biology

7. “I love TMU because of the multitude of people from different backgrounds. In class, you get to meet a wide variety of people and listen to so many different and interesting perspectives.” - Sophie, Business Management

8. “My program is super hands-on, and it’s really easy to pick up material and learn quickly.” - Marlo, Media Production

9. “Campus is really compact, and it’s easy to get everywhere you need to go.” - Larissa, Criminology

10. “I really love the services and support offered at TMU. There are so many different departments and resources that I can go to when I need it.” - Lauren, Creative Industries

11. “I love the variety of things to do downtown in between classes. As a commuter student, I can have big gaps between my classes and don’t want to go home, so there is a lot for me to do to keep me busy.” - Maggie, Civil Engineering

12. “I like the way our programs have a practical component, like internships, and can make the learning experience more than just theoretical.” - Vivienne, Creative Industries

13. “I love the diversity and that there is the opportunity to meet people from so many different walks of life.” - Melissa, Accounting & Finance

*There is one Starbucks on campus and three others very close!As you can see, there are so many reasons to love TMU! These are really just scratching the surface, and I love TMU for all of these reasons, and more.
