Hello from Jenna!
Hi there!
I’m Jenna, coming at you through whatever device you’re reading this blog on right now. I’m currently in my fourth (and final!) year of the Creative Industries (CRI) program here at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). This year I’m looking forward to wrapping up my degree and catching up with friends and classmates now that classes are fully in-person again.
This summer was one of my best summers in recent memory! I’m originally from Ottawa, Ontario, but for the first time, I spent a majority of my summer in Toronto. I completed an internship for my program, went to five amazing concerts, tried some new restaurants and explored the city as much as I could. I did it all with my friends by my side, which made it ten times better!
Sadly summer is now coming to an end — but I am really looking forward to this school year. As I mentioned, it’s my last year of my undergraduate degree, and I’m hoping to take advantage of as many school-related opportunities as possible. I’ll be serving as Vice President of Communications for the Creative Industries Course Union (external link, opens in new window) (CICU), making sure that current CRI students know all about what the CICU is doing throughout the year. As well, I’ll be a peer mentor to a first-year CRI student through TMU’s Tri-Mentoring Program. I’ll also be taking full advantage of TMU’s group fitness classes (they’re included with your tuition) every week. Most of all, I’m looking forward to being back on campus full-time, except for when I have 8 a.m. classes.
Outside of classes, you can find me reading the latest best-selling romance novel with an iced chai, rewatching one of my favourite sitcoms for the umpteenth time (right now it’s Friends (external link, opens in new window) ) or waiting impatiently for my next concert. Oh, and talking or thinking about the Arkells (external link, opens in new window) , my all-time favourite band.
I’ll be sharing all of my experiences from this school year, and school years past, in the coming months. The blog will also feature other student experiences and opportunities our university has to offer, so be sure to bookmark it and check in often!
Until next time,
Jenna
