Get to Know Jenna!
Hello, hello, hello!
My name is Jenna, and I’m so happy to be saying (writing?) “hello” to you right now! I’m a third-year Creative Industries student, where the two modules I’m focusing on are The Business and Practice of News and The Music Industry. As a result of my love for all things literary, I’m also hoping to complete an English minor in the two years I have left in my program. I’m originally from Ottawa, Ontario, but I’m happily living in downtown Toronto for this school year.
If you’re thinking “Hey, this sounds kind of familiar?” don’t be worried! This is my third year as a student ambassador for our university, and I’m so excited to be back and show off my experience as a student navigating university life.
When I’m not doing schoolwork or attending Zoom lectures, I love to read novels and indulge in some television. I especially enjoy partaking in those activities during the summer, so I can do those two things guilt-free without worrying about assignments that I probably should’ve been working on instead. This summer I read some amazing books and watched a lot of Gilmore Girls. I also got to do some traveling within Canada to see some friends and family I hadn’t seen in a while.
Here are some of the great books I read this summer!
A very random, but absolutely necessary thing that you must know about me, is that I met Shawn Mendes when I was in high school and I think it’s one of my greatest accomplishments to this day.
I’m looking forward to this school year as the campus is opening up more. As a resident of downtown Toronto, I’m excited to explore the city more and get takeout from our university’s Oakham Café (external link, opens in new window) as much as possible. Throughout this school year, I’ll also be searching for an internship position for next summer as part of the Creative Industries program. I will definitely be sharing my experience with this on the blog, so be sure to check in throughout the year!
