I am an Accounting Co-op Major within the School of Accounting & Finance at Toronto Metropolitan University and plan on pursuing the CPA designation after graduating. Eventually, I want to work for a non-profit organization that focuses on a cause I feel strongly about.
Being a co-op student, I was able to transition from student to employee with a lot of support. I have gained extremely valuable real-world experience and feel very privileged to be able to do so before even graduating. I truly believe it makes a huge difference in finding the right career path as well as really understanding the concepts that are being taught in school.
Also being a member of the Toronto Metropolitan University Accounting Society (RUAS), I was able to get involved and gain a lot of exposure with the various events and initiatives that are provided for students. In addition to connecting with multiple industry professionals, being a part of the RUAS executive team has been a very fun and rewarding part of my university journey.
I chose to come to Toronto Metropolitan University because of its irresistible location and promising new program that had an extra focus on Accounting. I feel that the Ted Rogers School of Management is rapidly emerging as a top business school and I am very proud and honoured to be a part of its growing success.
