Immersive Language Programs
Expand your language skills while experiencing all that Toronto has to offer
Our Immersive Language Programs are short-term options for groups of students looking for specialized English language programs that are both theoretical and practical. Students will refine and enhance core linguistic skills including academic reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Suitable for groups of international students ages 13+.
The English Language Institute (ELI) is accredited by Languages Canada.

Program Details
Full Stream
Includes a full schedule of social and community-building programming each day.
Cost per student*
- 1-week: $799 CAD
- 2-week: $1,598 CAD
- 3-week: $2,397 CAD
- 4-week: $3,196 CAD
Light Stream
Includes two afternoons of social and community-building programming per week.
Cost per student*
- 1-week: $249 CAD
- 2-week: $498 CAD
- 3-week: $747 CAD
- 4-week: $996 CAD
The English Language Institute may be able to arrange accommodations and food for your group at an additional cost. Please contact us for details.

Programming requests received after December 15 will be considered on a case-by-case scenario.
Program Outcomes
- 15 hours of ESL education weekly, led by our ELI instructors
- Pronunciation clinics to help students produce more authentic sounds
- Workshops focused on how to research and write at an academic level
- Interactive activities to practice listening and speaking skills, including presentations, discussions and debates
- Mentorship with current undergraduate students at TMU to support student growth
Our curriculum is centred on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), empowering students to find creative solutions for economic, social and environmental challenges through collaborative project-based learning. Students will reflect on real-world events, policies and strategies affecting people and communities locally and globally.
- Students will participate in cultural experiences unique to Toronto, such as visiting the CN Tower, St. Lawrence Market and the Toronto Zoo. Programs with a 2-, 3- or 4-week duration may include a trip to Niagara Falls.
- Personal development workshops will enhance student experience and engagement through reflective practices. Workshops may include Understanding Your Leadership Style, Conflict Management and Mindful Communication.
- Evening social programming fosters quality conversation among students. Social programming may include conversation cafés, game nights and karaoke.
